IDA
The International Dyslexia Association, Inc. (IDA) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) charity, organized and operated to provide advocacy, resources and services to teaching professionals, advocates and individuals and families impacted by dyslexia and other related learning differences.

Washington OSPI Dyslexia Council
The Washington state Dyslexia Advisory Council is working to develop recommendations on best practices for implementing the screenings in school districts, staff training to target the areas of need for those experiencing dyslexia or indicators of dyslexia, information for parents and families that includes a list of resources, and best practices to help students in grades three and above who might be experiencing dyslexia.

INW Dyslexia Alliance
The INW Dyslexia Alliance, a local (Spokane and CDA) nonprofit founded in 2022, with a mission to support, empower, and advocate for individuals with dyslexia, their families, and professionals in the Inland Northwest.

WABIDA
Washington and Idaho branch of the International Dyslexia Association. The International Dyslexia Association supports efforts to provide individuals with dyslexia with appropriate instruction and to identify these individuals at an early age.

Decoding Dyslexia WA Chapter
Decoding Dyslexia Washington is a parent-led, grassroots organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators and professionals. We came together to raise dyslexia awareness, empower families to support their children with dyslexia, and to positively inform Washington policy makers on best practices to identify, remediate and support students with dyslexia.

WA PAVE
PAVE stands for Partnerships for Action, Voices for Empowerment. It is a Washington advocacy group and their website is filled with information and resources about advocating for students with disabilities. Helpful information on how to navigate the IEP/504 process.
WA OSPI SPED
WA OSPI is where you can find all regulations and laws regarding public education. This page provides guidance on how to refer your child, request an evaluation, and the general IEP process. There is an example of a letter that you can download to use to request an evaluation.

WA Child Find
The State must have in effect policies and procedures to ensure that – (i) All children with disabilities residing in the State, including children with disabilities who are homeless or are wards of the State, and children with disabilities attending private schools, regardless of the severity of their disability, and who are in need of special education and related services, are identified, located, and evaluated.

Dr. Gerdin
Dr. Gerdin is a Spokane area clinical psychologist specializing in the assessment of developmental & psychiatric disorders. He uses neuropsychological assessments, academic tests, intelligence tests, and a variety of personality assessments to form a wholistic picture of his patients. He often works with patients whose developmental or psychiatric diagnoses have been missed or masked for years.

Enilda Clinic
Spokane Pediatric Therapy & Assessment Using a Strengths-Based Approach by Dr. Leslie Hayward. She is trained as a school psychologist at the doctoral level, with intensive training with rendering medical diagnoses in child mental health concerns and is able to collect data across the various environments in which children live, learn, and play.

INW Dyslexia Alliance
Dyslexia evaluations through the INW Dyslexia Alliance are conducted by licensed and clinically certified Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs), serving clients aged 6-18. An accurate diagnosis of dyslexia offers clarity, helping guide students towards evidence-based reading instruction and accommodations for school success. Spokane and Coeur d'Alene area.

Creative and customized speech and language intervention by Alicia Weeks, MS, CCC-SLP in Spokane. Also provides diagnostic assessments. Currently in network with Premera/Blue Cross insurance. Superbills and cash pay options available.
